About Pam

Pamela Martin-McDonald, CPT

Meet Pam! Pam is a “Naturotherapist” with the ANN (Academy of Naturopath’s and Naturotherapist of Canada), and a Holistic Health Practitioner in St. John’s. A passionate mental health advocate who believes in whole-body health that is achieved and maintained by addressing the mental, physical, and spiritual elements of the self. Both the Yin and Yang sides of life are what teach us balance. One is not better than the other.

The Starting Point To Better Health

Motherhood sparked Pam’s entry into better health with a mommy and baby workout to help improve physical health. Six months later, she found herself enrolled in fitness competitions. Although she is now retired, Pam has competed and placed in five competitions and two federations, both locally and nationally. Now, as a professionally trained and award-winning bodybuilder, she can also share her lesson on the importance of mindset.

Certified Teacher and Trainer

As a certified personal trainer (Canfit Pro), Pam has developed and taught live online circuit training programs, fitness classes, group transformation programs, and nutritional coaching sessions.

Some teachings included group and private lessons in Yin Yoga (Satori Yoga, NB), Yoga Nidra (Shakti Yoga NL), Healthy Weight Loss (CanFit Pro), Kids and Family Yoga (Karma Kids NY), Essential Oils and Natural Health Coaching (doTerra Int.), Meditation Teacher (The Lotus Center, NL), Restorative Yoga (Andrea Peloso), and Reiki (Reiki On the Rock).

Giving Back To The Community

With a natural passion for helping others overcome doubt, unhealthy patterns, and improving mental health, Pam engages in public speaking, presents on wellness topics, coaches on personal development, and facilitates self-care programs. Through these teachings, Pam has offered wellness retreats both privately and corporately over the years and enjoys the connections made during the process.

Giving back to the community has always been a priority for Pam. Volunteering at Mary Queen of Peace Elementary School, the Breakfast Program, the Special Olympics, teaching yoga in schools, and advocating and fundraising for several community events. Throughout her efforts, Pam specifically found joy in volunteering for those events related to mental health: at-risk youth, local shelters, and food banks.

Making Healthy Fun!

When you think about a healthy lifestyle, put your mindset in positive-mode. It doesn’t have to mean leading a limiting or challenging lifestyle. Choose healthy changes that are fun and enjoyable! For Pam, fun is meeting new people through her classes, trying new things (like cold water resistance training), being in nature, family bike rides, hiking, gardening, listening to live music, and eating!

Awareness Is Key!

“Learning mindfulness and truly being present and connected is essential. It takes grit, trial and error, failure, and love (maybe some lipstick) to find your way to owning your life!! It really is about finding balance with the Yin and Yang, creating a life you love, a body you are proud of, and a mind that you fall in love with.”
