Kidney Foundation Project October 2021

It’s never too late to start moving your body! Moving your body and staying physically active is one of the best things you can do for your health. Staying active can help you feel good by lifting your mood, helping you sleep better at night, and helping you to manage stress. It can also help you to maintain a healthy body weight, control your blood pressure and cholesterol, and improve your mobility.

In this webinar:

  • Kevin Douillette, Master of Kinesiology Student, will address the benefits of physical activity to kidney disease, how to start moving your body in a safe way and how to progress.
  • Yoga Instructor, Pam Martin-McDonald, guides us through an active break with 20 minutes of gentle, easy movements.
  • Sarah Newman shares her inspiring journey with physical activity while living with chronic kidney disease.

RENALizing an Active Lifestyle

At the 32:15 mark, you’ll my turn in the video presentation.

Meridian was delighted to be part of this virtual event to lead a gentle yoga session that opened up the channels in the body with the addition of twists to aid the natural process of the digestive system all paired with mindful,  calming, and cleansing breaths.
